Last week, I read this article that articulated how I’ve been feeling.
With the rise of technology into every aspect of our lives, what are the costs?
For one, we’re losing the physical places that shape interactions and that connect us. We’ve been isolated.
With this business, I want to build an ecosystem that at the heart is cooperation and community focused. Not competition.
Yes, I’m grateful for technology like Facebook and Instagram that has connected me with people from all over the world, but I believe brick and mortar stores still have a valuable place in our society.
Independent retail stores are a positive engine for our communities. They often support local charitable organizations or sponsor a local youth baseball team. Small actions but actions that help make a community vibrant.
A lot of the stores that carry Blackrock are small mom and pop retail stores. They are not big box retailers with locations across the country backed by a publicly traded holding company.
I'm grateful for the stores that carry our product. I wouldn't be here without their support (or yours.) For a store near you that carries Blackrock, check out our store locator page here.
So with that said, I want to say, thank you. Thank you to every single one of you for supporting this business and for believing in fostering a spirit of community.
We’re all in this together.
